When I first started to investigate Meditation Methods, I immediately typed “FREE Meditation” into Google, to see if I could get some really good resources.
What I found was mostly very basic information that really didn’t help me. In fact, I ended up buying a bunch of meditation courses, and spent hours in my public library figuring things out.
And of course, once I got really good at it, I started teaching meditation (among other things) and became a recognised expert in the field.
One of the first things you must realize about meditation is that there are several different kinds, and since I wrote my first instructional course “Mastery Through Meditation“, I followed it up with “Mind Portal“, so I have some degree of expertise with regards to how to meditate properly.
Meditation is one of the best exercises to do for relaxation as it allows you to actually “check out” for a little while and take a break from life.
Most of the time, when people say they are relaxing, often times they “think” they are relaxing their body but probably aren’t.
Real relaxation comes from knowing that you need to train both your mind and body to understand the relaxation process.
Without relaxation you really won’t be able to get to higher levels of meditation.

By the way, meditation doesn’t have to be some long drawn out thing, you can meditate for 5 minutes to start…Are you ready?

- Sit in a chair or lay down
- You can have your eyes opened or closed
- As you breath in through your stomach focus on one thought
- As you focus on that thought, disassociate from all other thoughts
- Tell yourself to relax and relax deeper
- Rinse and repeat (so to speak)
